Executive Director Biography:
Jamie Browning brings over 35 years of experience in the Medical Imaging field, including more than 15 years specializing in regulatory compliance and radiation safety. Her career began as a radiology file clerk at Logan General Hospital while pursuing her education at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College (SWVCTC), where she earned an Associate Degree in General Studies.
Ms. Browning furthered her academic achievements at the University of Charleston (UC), earning an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Administration. After graduation, she returned to her hometown of Logan, West Virginia, and served as a Radiologic Technologist at Logan General Hospital for a decade.
She later joined the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ Radiological Health Program, dedicating 15 years to protecting the health and safety of West Virginia’s citizens from radiologic hazards and overexposures. During this time, she coordinated several critical programs, including the FDA’s Mammography Quality Standards Assurance Program (MQSA), the EPA’s Radon Reduction Program, and FirstEnergy’s Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Preparedness Programs.
Ms. Browning has been a long-standing Board Member of the West Virginia Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners. She was appointed as the Board’s Executive Director on April 1, 2016, and continues to lead with dedication, expertise, and a commitment to excellence in medical imaging and radiation safety.
